General description

EXOSC9 (exosome component 9) is a major subunit of the exosome complex. This protein is a homolog of the Escherichia coli RNase PH exonuclease. It is located on human chromosome 4q27.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

EXOSC9 (exosome component 9) can stimulate self-renewal and prevent premature differentiation by protecting transcript levels of a transcription factor. It modulates expression of the gene, that helps to maintain the multiplication and blocks differentiation.
