Anti-AFP antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

α-Fetoprotein (AFP) is a major serum protein encoded by the AFP gene in humans. It is produced by liver of a fetus. AFP is mapped within bands q11-22 of the long arm of human chromosome 4. Serum α-fetoprotein (AFP) level is elevated in various types of acute liver injuries, indicating active liver regeneration. It is useful for the detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) recurrence in AFP-producing HCC.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.
