General description

IgG antibodies regulate several functions such as complement activation and phagocytosis. Thus they play a crucial role in facilitating cytological immune responses. Anti-rabbit IgG (whole molecule), F(ab′)2 fragment-peroxidase antibody can be used to detect immune-complexes. The product can also be used in direct ELISA. Goat anti- rabbit IgG (whole molecule), F(ab′)2 fragment-peroxidase antibody reacts specifically with all rabbit immunoglobulins.

Immunogen

Purified rabbit IgG.

Application

Anti-rabbit IgG (whole molecule), F(ab′)2 fragment-peroxidase antibody can be used in immunoprecipitation and western blotting.
Proteins from lysed Leishmania amazonensis cells were analyzed by western blot using HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit Fc specific IgG as the secondary antibody.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% bovine serum albumin with preservative.

Preparation Note

Prepared using the periodate method described by Wilson, M.B., and Nakane, P.K., in Immunofluorescence and Related Staining Techniques, Elsevier/North Holland Biomedical Press, Amsterdam, p215 (1978).
