Application

MOPS is a biological buffer also referred to as a “Propane Sultone” buffer. The pKa of MOPS is 7.01 which make it an ideal candidate for medias and protein based buffer formulations to maintain a stable environment in solution. MOPS is considered to be non-toxic to culture cell lines and provides high-solution clarity.MOPS is used in cell culture media, biopharmaceutical buffer formulations (both upstream and downstream). MOPS based buffers are used in purification bioprocesses of antibodies, peptides, proteins and blood components.
