General description

The Isopore membrane is a polycarbonate that allows sample visualization on membrane surface using optical or electron microscopy. Due to precise pore diameter and consistent pore size, it allows size-based sample separation with accuracy. It may be useful in chemotaxis assay, air monitoring, and epifluorescent microscopy.

Application

  • Chemotaxis
  • Bioassays
  • Cytology
  • Air monitoring
  • Microplastics analysis

Isopore membrane filter has been used to:
  • filter microplastics associated with microbes from seawater samples
  • wrap and encapsulate tumor for implantation in mice to mimic anti-angiogenic (AA) therapy
  • filter out phytoplankton and large-sized particles
  • hold mammalian cell lines for ultraviolet (UV) irradiation studies

Features and Benefits

  • Isopore membranes have low background interference.
  • Particle retention on the membrane surface favorable for counting and analysis.
  • Non-hygroscopic and translucent material.
  • Rapid sample drying and analysis time.
  • Also available in a brown variety.

Caution

Possible reduction in flow rates may occur after autoclaving.

Although anti-angiogenic (AA) therapy is widely used in clinical practice, it is often challenged by insufficient efficacy and intrinsic resistance. Some studies have reported that AA therapy can even increase tumor metastasis. However, whether this is due to a specific

BRCA1/2 help maintain genomic integrity by stabilizing stalled forks. Here, we identify the E3 ligase RFWD3 as an essential modulator of stalled fork stability in BRCA2-deficient cells and show that codepletion of RFWD3 rescues fork degradation, collapse, and cell sensitivity
