General description

Malonic acid is a 1,3-dicarboxylic acid commonly used in the manufacture of dyes, pharmaceuticals, adhesives, agrochemicals, and fragrances, facilitated by the high reactivity of the central methylene group.

Application

Malonic acid can be used as:
  • A complexing agent in the preparation of Cr-P coatings applicable in engineering tools and components.
  • A cross-linker in the synthesis of closed-cell polyurethane foams applicable in the polymer industry.

It can also be introduced into the isotropic conductive adhesive formulation to enhance the electrical properties of electrically conductive adhesives.
