General description

Anti-Dopamine D₂ Receptor, rabbit polyclonal, specifically recognizes the dopamine D2 receptor in rat brain. Has minimal reactivity with the D2S receptor. It is validated for use in ELISA, WB, & IHC.
Rabbit polyclonal antibody supplied as lyophilized, undiluted serum. Recognizes the ~48-51 kDa dopamine D2 receptor protein.
Recognizes the dopamine D2 receptor in rat brain. Does not cross-react with other dopamine receptors and exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with the D2S short receptor.

Immunogen

Human
a synthetic peptide (CAARRAQELEME) corresponding to amino acids 272-282 of human D₂ dopamine receptor

Application

ELISA (see comments)

Other Notes

This antibody is highly specific for the immunizing peptide sequence and is suitable for detection of both the D2S and D2L dopamine receptors in human and rat samples. This antibody has also been reported to work for ELISA. For immunoblotting, a 1:800 dilution of the reconstituted antiserum detects two bands at ~48 and ~51 kDa in an analysis using whole rat brain homogenates. For blocking immunoblot membranes, use ONLY 4% goat serum or evaporated goat′s milk. For frozen sections, a 1:5000 dilution of the reconstituted antiserum demonstrates specific staining of rat brain sections including the plasma membrane in the cortex, caudate putamen, globus pallidus, thalamic nucleus, supra optic nucleus, and the dentate gyrus. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.
