Gene Information

human ... PDGFRA(5156)

General description

979 U/mg, where one unit of PDGFR alpha (V561D) activity is defined as 1nmol phosphate incorporated into 250 μM GGMEDIYFEFMGGKKK per minute at 30μC with a final ATP concentration of 100 μM.
FUNCTION: SwissProt: P16234 # Receptor that binds both PDGFA and PDGFB and has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity.
SIZE: 1089 amino acids; 122670 Da
SUBUNIT: Homodimer, and heterodimer with PDGFRB. Interacts with SHB (By similarity).
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
DISEASE: SwissProt: P16234 # A fusion of PDGFRA and FIP1L1 (FIP1L1-PDGFRA), due to an interstitial chromosomal deletion, is the cause of some cases of hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) [MIM:607685]. HES is a rare hematologic disorder characterized by sustained overproduction of eosinophils in the bone marrow, eosinophilia, tissue infiltration and organ damage.
SIMILARITY: SwissProt: P16234 ## Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Tyr protein kinase family. CSF-1/PDGF receptor subfamily. & Contains 5 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains. & Contains 1 protein kinase domain.

Packaging

Also available in 10 μg size (cat#14-735) and in bulk (cat# 14-735-K).

Quality

Routinely evaluated by phosphorylation 250 μM GGMEDIYFEFMGGKKK. Purity was assessed by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining using 3 μg of active PDGFR alpha.

Physical properties

63.5 kDa

Physical form

10 μg of recombinant protein in 100 μL of 50 mM Tris-HCl pH 7.5, 300 mM NaCl, 0.1 mM EGTA, 0.03% Brij-35, 270 mM sucrose, 1 mM benzamidine, 0.2 mM PMSF, 0.1% 2-mercaptoethanol. Frozen solution.

Storage and Stability

Storage and Stability: Stable for 6 months at -70 °C from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge original vial prior to removing the cap. Rapidly thaw the vial under cold water and immediately place on ice. Aliquot unused material into pre-chilled microcentrifuge tubes and immediately snap-freeze the vials in liquid nitrogen prior to re-storage at -70°C.
