Biochem/physiol Actions

Prostaglandin F2α agonist; Antiglaucoma agent
Taflupost is a prostaglandin F2α agonist that lowers intraocular pressure and is used in the treatment of glaucoma. It has high affinity and selectivity for the fluoroprostaglandin (FP) receptor PGF2α. Tafluprost is believed to reduce the intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor. Tafluprost is a pro-drug. The active metabolite is the free acid.
