General description

Rafoxanide is a halogenated salicylanilide and an anthelmintic agent. It is widely used against fasciolosis and haemonchosis in sheep and cattle. It also finds applications as an adulticide for Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica.

Application

Rafoxanide may be used as a reference standard in the determination of rafoxanide in plasma and tissue samples using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with an ultraviolet detector and thermospray − mass spectrometry.
