Mouse Mammary, parent to drug resistant derivatives

Cell Line Description

A mouse mammary cell line, EMT6/P is the parent cell line to a series of drug resistant lines also available from ECACC. Drug resistant derivative cell lines available include: EMT6/AR1, EMT6/AR10.0, EMT6/CPR, EMT6/MTXR, EMT6/VCR/R

Application

EMT6/P has been used to study the antitumor potential of a combination of melatonin and Propionibacterium acnes against breast cancer implanted in mice. It has also been used to determine the anti-proliferative effects of the combination of metformin and curcumin on breast cancer.

Culture Medium

EMEM (EBSS) +2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS)

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2;37ºC.
