Human Caucasian skin fibroblast Gardner′s syndrome

Cell Line Description

Derived from a 13 year old Caucasian male with Gardner′s syndrome, an autosomal dominant condition which predisposes to carcinoma and multiple polyps of the colon. The modal chromosome number was 46, occurring in 60% of cells.

Culture Medium

EMEM (HBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 20% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Split semi-confluent cultures 1:2 i.e. seeding at 4x10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO₂; 37°C. Monolayer should form in a 25cm² flask in 3-4 days.
