General description

Methylephedrine, a sympathomimetic amine and a bronchodilator, is a component of several over-the-counter cough medications such as "BRON." Methylephedrine occasionally used in athletics as a performance enhancing drug for its stimulant effect. This Certified Snap-N-Spike® Solution is applicable for use as starting material in calibrators or controls for a variety of LC/MS or GC/MS applications from sports testing and urine drug testing to forensic analysis and clinical toxicology.

Internal medicine (Tokyo, Japan), 47(11), 1013-1015 (2008-06-04)
We report a 35-year-old man who was referred to our hospital with generalized convulsion and mixed acidosis presumably caused by abuse of SS-BRON tablets, an over-the-counter (OTC) antitussive medication sold in Japan. These tablets contain dihydrocodeine phosphate, methylephedrine, chlorpheniramine, and

A short sequence based on asymmetric catalysis, chirality transfer, and an optimized carbometallation protocol gave an anti, anti stereotriad building block in six steps. Both enantiomers of the chirality source, N-methyl ephedrine, are inexpensive, and the auxiliary is recoverable. In one

In this work, simultaneous separation of eight stereoisomers of ephedrine and related compounds ((+/-)-ephedrine, (+/-)-pseudoephedrine, (+/-)-norephedrine and (+/-)-N-methylephedrine) was accomplished using a polymeric chiral surfactant, i.e. polysodium N-undecenoxycarbonyl-L-leucinate (poly-L-SUCL) by chiral (C)MEKC-ESI-MS. The conditions of CMEKC were first investigated. The

Biomedical chromatography : BMC, 23(11), 1138-1144 (2009-06-06)
A novel method for the determination of ephedra alkaloids (methylephedrine and pseudoephedrine) was developed by electrophoresis capillary (CE) separation and electrochemiluminesence detection (ECL). The use of ionic liquid (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, BMIMBF(4)) improved the detection sensitivity markedly. The conditions for CE

The effect of cosurfactant identity on microemulsion size, elution range, retention factor, enantioselectivity, methylene selectivity, efficiency, and resolution in chiral microemulsion formulations was examined. The chiral surfactant dodecoxycarbonylvaline was used in conjunction with the cosurfactants 1-butanol, 1-pentanol, 2-pentanol, 1-hexanol, 2-hexanol
