ORBO sorbent tubes (matrix Carboxen® 1000, ORBO tube I.D. × L 6 mm × 95 mm, Bed B 90 mg, Bed A 180 mg, 60/80 mesh) contain two beds of the same selective adsorbent separated by glass wool or foam, for gas and vapor sampling. The dual-layer or two-bed construction of the tube allows for any sample breakthrough to be captured in the smaller back-up bed.

A new and in part automated headspace solid-phase microextraction method for quantitative determination of the highly toxic rodenticide fluoroacetic acid (FAA) in serum and other biological samples has been developed. FAA and deuterated acetic acid (internal standard) were extracted from
Headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled with GC/FID and GC/MS was applied for the first time in the analysis of the volatile fraction of an Ephedra species. Notably, six Italian populations (Marche, Abruzzo, and Sardinia) of Ephedra nebrodensis subsp. nebrodensis, covering

A rapid and automated solid phase microextraction (SPME) stable isotope dilution gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method for 2-methoxy-3-isobutylpyrazine (MIBP) quantification in red wine was developed. Wines with 30% (w/v) NaCl and 2-methoxy-(2)H(3)-3-isobutylpyrazine internal standard were sampled with a 2 cm

For the analysis of furan, a possible carcinogen formed during thermal treatment of food, Solid-Phase Microextraction (SPME) is a preferred and validated sampling method. However, when volatile furan precursors are adsorbed on the carboxen/PDMS fiber, additional amounts of furan can
