General description

SUPELCOGEL columns containing sulfonated divinylbenzene resins are available in 6 cationic forms, each with unique selectivity, for the analysis of saccharides or organic acids. While chemical and physical properties do not vary significantly within different classes of sugars, HPLC separations of carbohydrates depend on differences in conformation, configuration, and column type.

Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. I have a SUPELCOGEL™ H (9 µm) HPLC Column and would like to store it for periods of 1-3 weeks. I run it in a dilute acid solution. What solution should I use.

    1 answer
    1. These columns are shipped in a 0.1% phosphoric acid solution, and recommended working mobile phases are 0.1-0.2% phosphoric acid or sulfuric acid. As long as any buffer salts have been removed from these columns, they can be stored safely in a dilute acidic solution.
