Gene Information

human ... GRHL2(79977)

General description

Grainyhead like transcription factor 2 (GRHL2) encodes a transcription factor that can act as a homodimer or as a heterodimer with either GRHL1 or GRHL3. Defects in this gene are a cause of non-syndromic sensorineural deafness autosomal dominant type 28 (DFNA28). Grainyhead like transcription factor 2 (GRHL2) is an epithelial regulatory factor. GRHL2 is homologous to Drosophila grainyhead. GRHL2 gene is located on human chromosome 8q22.3.

Immunogen

GRHL2 (NP_079191.1, 1 a.a. ~ 625 a.a) full-length human protein.

Application

Anti-GRHL2 antibody produced in mouse has been used in:
  • Immunofluorescence
  • Western blotting
  • Co-immunoprecipitation
  • Immunohistochemistry

Biochem/physiol Actions

Grainyhead like transcription factor 2 (GRHL2) inhibits epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, which is necessary for cell migration. It is involved in neural tube closure, epithelial morphogenesis and barrier formation during embryogenesis. It contributes to carcinogenesis. GRHL2 regulates epithelial plasticity of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) progression.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4
