Jack beans may be used as a "crude urease." Jack beans (Canavalia ensiformis) is a potential source of protein and local feed ingredient. It contains essential amino acids. Jack bean is also rich in phenol, isoflavones, niacin, saponins, and fibre and possesses hypocholesterolemic properties.
