Application
Organohalide based perovskites have emerged as an important class of material for solar cell applications. The variations/substitution in organohalide cations and anions is employed for the optimization of the band gap, carrier diffusion length, and power conversion efficiency of perovskites based solar cells.
n-Hexylammonium iodide can be used in the fabrication of perovskite solar cells. It can serve as a component in the synthesis of lead iodide-based perovskite materials, which are used as light-absorbing layers in these solar cells. Apart from this it can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical compounds, used in ion exchange resins for water treatment applications.
