General description

Diphosphorus tetraiodide is an orange crystalline solid that can be used as a reagent for organic synthesis. It shows a high affinity for oxygen and can be used in substitution of alcohol to form alkyl iodides. It can also be used in the conversion of carboxylic acids to nitriles.[1][2]
