Anti-SODIUM CHANNEL-PAN Antibody detects endogenous levels of total SODIUM CHANNEL-PAN protein.
The SCN5A (sodium channel protein type 5 subunit α) gene is mapped to human chromosome 3p22.2. The encoded protein is known to be localized to cardiac cells.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Sodium Channel.
Immunogen Range: 1466-1515
Biochem/physiol Actions
SCN5A (sodium channel protein type 5 subunit α) is associated with the regulation of myocardial excitability as it conducts cardiac depolarization via inward Na+ current. Mutation in SCN5A causes retarded cardiac repolarization resulting in congenital long QT syndrome and also causes Brugada syndrome due to loss of gene function.

Interleukin 16 (IL-16) is a cytokine that is primarily associated with CD4+ T cell function, but also exists as a multi-domain PDZ protein expressed within cerebellar and hippocampal neurons. We have previously shown that lymphocyte-derived IL-16 is neuroprotective against excitotoxicity
