Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. What is the quantity of mupirocin per vial please? Does it require pre-dissolution in DMSO before use?

    1 answer
    1. The typical composition (per vial) is: Lithium mupirocin 25 mg.
And the final concentration per liter is: Lithium mupirocin 50 mg (conforms with ISO 29981/IDF 220: 2010).

      The preparation is as follows:
Add 25 ml of sterile, deionized water to the lyophilizate in the original vial and dissolve by carefully swirling. Add the solved supplement to the base culture medium that has been cooled to 48°C ± 1°C.

      Helpful?

  2. Hi! I have TOS agar in the glass tube about 18 ml. How do I put MUP supplement into 18 ml tube as the supplement is pallet and it's hard to weigh out?So If you could give me solution to make this supplement in solution, that would be great!

    1 answer
    1. The preparation instructions for the supplement state that 25 mL of sterile purified water should be added to the vial to dissolve. For usage, 5 mL of supplement solution is added to 95 mL of the agar base and then dispensed to tubes or plates. The 18 mL volume of agar base would require the addition of 947 µL of supplement solution.
