General description

β-Carotene, also known as E160a when used as food coloring supplement, is a precursor to vitamin A. Serum levels of β-carotene are an adequate measurement of clinical status and can confirm the diagnosis of carotenoderma and is used to detect fat malabsorption. This Certified Spiking Solution® is suitable for use as starting material in the preparation of linearity standards, calibrators, or controls in HPLC/UV, LC/MS or GC/MS testing applications such as clinical diagnostic, or food and nutrition testing.
