Biochem/physiol Actions

FEM1A (fem-1 homolog A) protein is involved in the regulation of stem-loop binding protein, that is associated with mRNA cleavage, translation and degradation. FEM1A is involved in anti-inflammatory signaling by interacting with prostaglandin E2 subtype E4 receptors. FEM1A is associated with the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome. Studies show that FEM1A gene is downegulated in rhabdomyosarcoma.
