Informations sur le gène

human ... HLA-G(3135)

Description générale

Human histocompatibility leukocyte antigen–G (HLA-G) belongs to the non-classical class I HLA family. It is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 6p21. Unlike other members of the human class I gene family, HLA-G is expressed specifically in extraembryonic tissues during gestation.
The antibody 5A6G7 allows to discriminate between soluble HLA-G protein yielded by shedding from membrane-bound HLA-G forms that do not contain the intron 4-encoded epitope and soluble HLA-G5/HLA-G6 produced from intron 4-retaining alternatively spliced mRNAs. HLA-G belongs to the MHC Class I molecules (MHC Class Ib; nonclassical) and it is expressed on the surface of trophoblast cells.

Immunogène

C-terminal amino acid sequence (22-mer) of soluble HLA-G5 and HLA-G6 proteins coupled to ovalbumin

Application

The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis. Suggested working dilution for Flow Cytometry is 2 μg/mL of sample. Indicated dilution is recommended starting point for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Human histocompatibility leukocyte antigen-G (HLA-G) molecule facilitates the regulation of maternal tolerance to the fetus by interacting with inhibitory receptors on natural killer (NK) cells. The encoded protein is involved in the embryonic development and/or the fetal-maternal immune response. Mutations in the gene increases the risk of susceptibility to a wide range of inflammatory diseases, including asthma.
