Description générale

Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
Epigallocatechin gallate is a potent polyphenolic flavonoid which is found as a component of tea. It exhibits antioxidant, antimutagenic, antitumor and anti-inflammatory properties, thereby contributing to the health-beneficial actions. It finds potential use as a drug candidate in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and nutritional fields.[1]

Application

Epigallocatechin gallate may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by various chromatography techniques.[2][1][3]
These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.

  1. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.     1. The purity of this product is reported on an 'as is' basis and is available in the lot specific Certificate of Analysis. A review of recent lots indicates a typical range of 92% - 95%.   4. Is this product suitable for cell culture? Is it permeable to cell membranes?

    1. This product is intended for use as an analytical standard and has not been tested for suitability in cell culture applications. As per available literature, it does appear to be cell permeable, While it is tested against the USP and EP standards, it is not sterile or endotoxin tested.
