Description générale

Dihydrotachysterol is a vitamin D analog in the reduced form, which has implications in the studies of calcemic and cell differentiating action of the hormone, 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3.[1] It has been indicated as a medication for the treatment of hypoparathyroidism and renal osteodystrophy.[2]

Application

Dihydrotachysterol may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in biological samples by chromatographic[3][4] techniques.
