Antiviral, anticancer, and antithyroid; show virucidal effect on influenza virus A (H1N1)
Goitrin is a sulfur containing alkaloid isolated from Isatis indigotica (Ban Lan Gen) and Brassica vegetables (yellow turnip, broccoli) that exhibits antiviral, anticancer, and antithyroid activities. Epigoitrin and goitrin appear to show virucidal effect on influenza virus A (H1N1) in vitro and in ovo.
