General description

It is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily (TR6). DcR3 transcript is expressed in a number of lung and colon carcinomas and in some normal tissues.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 31-46 of human DcR3 precursor.

Application

Anti-DcR3 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a working dilution of 1:500-1:1000 using human heart, brain or kidney lysates.

Biochem/physiol Actions

DcR3 is a soluble decoy receptor that binds to FasL and LIGHT and inhibits FasL and LIGHT induced apoptosis.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Fas ligand (FasL) is produced by activated T cells and natural killer cells and it induces apoptosis (programmed cell death) in target cells through the death receptor Fas/Apol/CD95. One important role of FasL and Fas is to mediate immune-cytotoxic killing
