Application

Oxonol VI can be used as a fluorescent potentiometric indicator to detect the membrane potentials in lipid vesicles. Quantitative measurements of the membrane potentials can be easily calibrated using oxonol VI because of its response to membrane potential changes.[1][2] It is also used as an electric potential-sensitive probe to study membrane vesicles from E. coli cells.[3]

Packaging

Bottomless glass bottle. Contents are inside inserted fused cone.
