General description

Abberior® STAR 580 dyes are developed for STED and confocal microscopy in the orange spectral region. The product, Abberior® STAR 580, streptavidin is a conjugate of Abberior® STAR 580 type of dyes. It can be effectively excited with an excitation wavelength between 500 - 600 nm. For STED microscopy, it can be used most efficiently with a STED laser wavelength between 750 - 800 nm. Abberior® STAR 580 dyes can substitute dyes like Cy3, ATTO 590 or Alexa Fluor 568. These are ideal partners for abberior STAR RED or abberior STAR 635P to obtain optimal 2 color STED results.

Features and Benefits

  • Fluorescent dye for physical/chemical research purposes, spectroscopy, and optical microscopy in biological and biomedical applications.
  • High photostability.
  • High fluorescent quantum yield of 90%.
  • Suitable for fluorescence labeling of biotin conjugated molecules.
