Pectolinarinis a glycosylated flavonoid that is generally found in several Cirsium spp. and was first extracted from Linaria vulgaris. The chemical structure has a rutinoside conjugate of pectolinarigenin at the 7-O position.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Pectolinarinexerts anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic, and antitumor activities. It is known to be a potent agent for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. It also displays antiviral, and antiparasitic effects and can inhibit bacterial biofilm formation. Pectolinarin relieves lipopolysaccharide-induced liver and kidney injuries.
