Gene Information

human ... FGFR3(2261)

General description

Anti-FGFR3 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total FGFR3 protein.

FGFR3 (fibroblast growth factor receptor 3) belongs to the fibroblast growth factor receptor (Fgfr) family of proteins. It has 19 exons, an extracellular ligand binding domain, a transmembrane domain and an intracellular tyrosine kinase domain. It is located on human chromosome 4p16.3.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human FGFR3.

Immunogen Range: 131-180

Application

Anti-FGFR3 antibody has been used in immunohistochemistry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Germline mutations in FGFR3 (fibroblast growth factor receptor 3) results in autosomal dominant skeletal dysplasias like achondroplasia (ACH), thanatophoric dysplasia (TD) and hypochrondroplasia (HCH). The gene also controls cellular activity.
