To measure hyaluronidase activity, a turbidimetric determination assay is used at 600 nm. One unit of hyaluronidase activity will cause a change in absorbance of 0.330 per minute at pH 5.35 at 37 °C.

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.

This product has not been tested to determine the molecular weight. However, historical information indicates a range of 1.6 - 2 MDa. Currently, there is no product available at a molecular weight of 100-200 kDa. Product H7630, from bovine vitreous humor, has historically demonstrated a molecular weight of approximately 300 kDa. Product No. H5388 is a linear heteropolysaccharide with repeating 3-O-(β-D-glucuronido)-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine units linked by β-(1-->4)) hexosaminidic bonds. The molecular weight of this subunit has not been determined, but could be calculated from the information above. Molecular weights of hyaluronic acids vary from 0.1-10 million, depending on the source. The hyaluronic acid from rooster comb is expected to have a molecular weight of 1-4 million.
