General description

N-Cyclopropyl-2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazine, also known as cyromazine, is an insect growth regulator(IGR) that is commonly used as an insecticide. It undergoes metabolism in plants and animals to form melamine. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopic study indicates that it interacts with the surface of silver colloid through the lone pair on nitrogen.

A gas chromatography-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) method was established for the determination of cyromazine and its metabolite, melamine, in animal-derived food. Chicken and tilapia muscle samples were spiked with (15)N(3)-melamine, extracted with an acidic acetonitrile/water solution, and defatted with dichloromethane. Egg

In this study, random amplified polymorphic DNA polymerase chain reaction (RAPD-PCR) was used to identify polymorphic genomic DNA that would discriminate among cyromazine-resistant, abamectin-resistant, and susceptible Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) (Diptera: Agromyzidae) leafminers. Using a reference strain that was susceptible to
