Benzoylprop-ethyl is an obsolete post-emergence selective herbicide that inhibits lipid biosynthesis. It belongs to the class of dichloroaniline propionate compounds and is used to control the growth of wild oats and wild barley.
As per the commission regulation no 1107/2009, repealing the council directive 91/414/EEC, benzoylprop-ethyl is not approved for use in the European Union and no default MRL value has been set for the presence of benzoylprop-ethyl in products of plant origin.

Application

The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
Benzoylprop-ethyl CRM may also be used as below:

  • Simultaneous detection of 346 pesticide residues present in grapes using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-selected ion monitoring (GC-MS-SIM) following a primary−secondary amine (PSA) matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) cleanup
  • Detection and identification of 317 pesticides from fruit and vegetable samples by high-performance liquid chromatography combined with quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (HPLCQ-TOF/MS)
  • Method development for the determination of 187 different pesticide residues in edible fungi samples using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
  • Development of a multi-residue method for the quantification of 252 pesticides in surface water samples using liquid chromatography quadrupole-Orbitrap high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry
  • Detection and quantification of 569 pesticide residues in honeysuckle samples by ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) in combination with quadrupole-Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry
  • Multi-residue analysis of 201 pesticides in 60 different medicinal herb samples using a simplified QuEChERS extraction and detection by gas chromatography-electron impact ionization triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (GC-EI-MS/MS)
