General description

Smart′Ink S-CS01120 conductive ink was developed for the printed electronics, is particularly well suited for applications requiring high conductivity and high resolution. This ink, based on silver, is perfectly adapted to design conductive traces on flexible substrates. This non-toxic nano silver ink is suited to design high resolution conductive patterns on flexible substrates for applications such as antennas, sensors, OPV and OLED grids, electrodes and touchscreen bezel busbars.

Smart′Ink S-CS01120 conductive ink shows improved jetting performance and is successfully used on different tools such as Drop on Demand (DOD) inkjet printer FUJIFILM Dimatix, or such as digital micro-dispensing inkjet printer Microdrop and Microfab.

Features and Benefits

Product benefits:
  • Very high electrical conductivity.
  • Low curing temperature for printing on flexible substrates.
  • Non CMR ink.
  • Compatible with various curing process including photonic, IR, low vacuum oven and thermal.
  • Unchanged conductivity on bending.
  • Good adhesion (5B-ASTM D3359) on various flexible substrates (PET, PEN and Kapton).Recommended surface treatment: temperature stabilization, argon plasma.

Preparation Note

  • Qualified printheads: RICOH (MH5420), XAAR (1003 GS6, 128), KONIKA MINOLTA (KM512SHx, KM1024iMHE, KM1024LHB), FUJIFILM (Dimatrix DMP series cartridge)
  • Storage stability: 6 months (fridge)
  • Sintering conditions:
Tunnel furnace: 120°C/5min for 20mW.cm; 150°C/5min for 6mW.cm; 180°C/5min for 3.8mW.cm; 200°C/5min for 2.8mW.cm.
NIR: few seconds for 4-10mW.cm.
Photonic curing: <100 ms for 3-10mW.cm.
Typical processing guideline

  • Smart′Ink S-CS01120 conductive ink is warmed to room temperature (about 10 minutes) and left for 5 minutes in an ultrasonic bath in order to get rid of any aggregates.
  • Filtration on a 0.45 μm PTFE filter syringe to avoid any nozzles clogging.

Questions

1–4 of 4 Questions
  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf

  2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  3. About cleaning the nozzles and tubes of the printer. Will a Terpineol mix like 86480 remove the silver from the nozzles and equipment in general? My system is the MicroDrop MD-K-130/140 nozzles

    1 answer
    1. The effectiveness of Terpineol for cleaning purposes has not been investigated. Product 910643, a Cleaning Solution for Ag ink, is recommended. This Cleaning solution is a mixture of Terpineol and other components. Please see the link below to review this item:
