Testosterone cypionate is a prodrug of testosterone that has a long elimination half-life. It is an androgen and anabolic–androgenic steroid that acts as agonist of the androgen receptor (AR). Testosterone cypionate is mainly used in the treatment of low testosterone levels in men. Also, it was approved for treatment of hypogonadism.
