General description

Reactive blue 4 (C.l. 61205) is a dichlorotriazine dye also known as procion brilliant blue MX-R, procion brilliant blue M.

Application

Reactive blue dyes have been used for labeling antibodies. Such anthraquinone dyes are widely used as immobilized ligands in systems for protein separations. Reactive blue 4 is used as a tracer to assess apical leakage in dental fillings. It is routinely used to stain proteins on electrophoretic gels.
