General description

Cerium(IV) oxide-samarium doped powder (20% mol samarium doped) (SDC-20) is an electrolytic material with a high oxygen ion conductivity. Samarium ion acts as an aliovalent cation that can be incorporated into the host lattice to increase the oxygen vacancy concentration and improve the oxide ion conduction in cerium oxide. It can be synthesized by reverse strike co-precipitation technique.
Samarium doped ceria may be used as an electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Electrical conductivity as a function of temperature of doped ceria was investigated in a study. Relation of dopant type, oxygen vacancy ordering and ionic conductivity was investigated by transmission electron microscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency. Click here for more details.
