The fragmentation of the multiply charged peptides b-chain of bovine insulin and glucagon have been investigated under low energy collision induced dissociation (CID) conditions using an electrospray ion trap mass spectrometer. The influence of charge state, specific amino acids such
Silk fabrics were treated with chlorosulphonic acid in pyridine for different times. The amount of sulfur bound to silk increased during the first 2 h of reaction and then reached a plateau. The amino acidic pattern of sulfated silk remained
A water-soluble hyperbranched beta-glucan, coded as TM3b, extracted from sclerotia of an edible fungus (Pleurotus tuber-regium) was fractioned into eight fractions coded as F1-F8 by a nonsolvent addition method. Five fractions were treated with chlorosulfonic acid at 35 degrees C

A detailed study of the scope of a new Pd-catalyzed synthesis of indoles from 1,2-dihaloarenes and o-halobenzene sulfonates and imines is described. The cascade reaction comprises an imine alpha-arylation followed by an intramolecular C-N bond-forming reaction promoted by the same
Silk fibroin (Bombyx mori) was sulfated using chlorosulfonic acid in pyridine. FT-IR spectra showed introduction of sulfate group by this reaction; NMR spectra indicated that sulfation occurred mainly at tyrosine and serine residues. Molecular size decreased and dispersed with sulfation.
