General description

Interferon lambda 1 (IFN-λ1), also known as IL-29, is a type of cytokine belonging to the Type III interferon family, which also includes IL-28A and IL-28B. These cytokines are recognized for their role in the immune response against viral infections and are structurally similar to members of the IL-10 family.
