Application

6-Bromo-2-naphthyl β-D-glucopyranoside may be used as a substrate for β-glycosidases in fast blue BB assay.[1] It is also suitable for use with fast blue BB reagent in native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) for β-glycosidases activity staining.[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions

6-Bromo-2-naphthyl β-D-glucopyranoside serves as a substrate for β-glycosidases. When hydrolyzed it forms an insoluble colored product.[1]
