General description

Sabouraud Dextrose Contact Agar + Chloramphenicol - RT+ is designed for the detection of the total count of yeasts and molds on dry surfaces and personnel in non-controlled environments. Sabouraud Dextrose Medium contains digests of animal tissues (peptones), which provide a nutritious source of amino acids and nitrogenous compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. Dextrose serves as the energy and carbon source. The low pH favors fungal growth and inhibits the growth of contaminating bacteria from samples. The addition of chloramphenicol further inhibits the growth of the accompanying bacterial flora. Additionally, the plate model (plus or “+”) is supplied with a lockable lid for safe transport after sampling and also aid in aerobic and anaerobic incubation of the plates.
