Biochem/physiol Actions

Cardiolipin plays an important role in oxidative phosphorylation. It is also involved in regulating mitochondria-induced apoptosis. Cardiolipin binds to mitochondrial proteins, which are involved in adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production. It also binds to peroxidase and interacts with cytochrome C, respectively.[1]

General description

18:2 Cardiolipin-d5 is a deuterated derivative of 18:2 Cardiolipin-d5. Cardiolipin is a prevalent di-phospholipid found in mammals. It is synthesized in the inner leaflet of the inner mitochondrial membrane.[1]
