Application
Es eignet sich zur Solubilisierung von Membranproteinen und zum Aufbrechen von Protein-Protein-Wechselwirkungen. Durch das geringe Mizellen-Molekulargewicht (6.150) und die hohe kritische Mizellenkonzentration (6–10 mM) von CHAPS lässt es sich einfach mittels Dialyse aus Proben entfernen. Ebenfalls eignet es sich zur Protein-Solubilisierung für isoelektrische Fokussierung und zweidimensionale Elektrophorese. CHAPS wird häufig für nicht denaturierendes (ohne Harnstoff) IEF verwendet und weist bei einigen subzellulären Präparationen und Pflanzenproteinen eine ausgezeichnete Auflösung auf. Für ein IEF-Gel kommen üblicherweise Konzentrationen von 2 bis 4 % (Volumengewicht) zum Einsatz.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
