Mirtazapine USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia. Also, for use with USP monographs such as:
  • Mirtazapine Tablets
  • Mirtazapine Orally Disintegrating Tablets
  • Mirtazapine Compounded Oral Suspension, Veterinary

Biochem/physiol Actions

Mirtazapine is a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA). Mirtazapine agonizes selective adrenergic and serotonergic receptors so that both NE release and 5-HT1A mediated serotonergic signaling are increased.
