Porous polymers are the most suitable adsorbent for applications based on the analysis of gases, acids, amines, organics of low carbon number and water. They are best suited for gas chromatography and are basically copolymers of polydivinylbenzene (DVB) which are very porous in nature ranging from mesoporous to microporous. Porapak^™ S is a porous polymer composed of vinyl pyridine and is most suitable for separation of normal and branched alcohols.

Application

Porapak^™ S maybe used in isothermal gas chromatographic analysis of light gases, for detection and separation of CO₂, C₂H₂, C₂H₄ and C₂H₆.
