White′s Basal Salt Mixture is widely used in plant tissue culture.

Application

White′s Basal Salt Mixture has been used:
  • as a medium for the precultured spores of Prothalli of Adiantum capillus for the generation of protonemata[1]
  • to promote germination and cotton cotyledon unfolding[2]
  • as a solidified medium component for culturing A. capillus and as a component of selection medium for gametophyte selection after particle bombardment[3]

With the macro- and micronutrients as described by White (1968).
