Application

Thymulin was used to study the impact of this compound on gonadotrophin-induced ovulation and on onset of puberty in mice.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Thymulin also refers as serum thymic factor is a nonapeptide that reduces the hyperalgesia induced due to peripheral endotoxin administration in rats and mice. It also possesses an immunomodulator function by regulating the cytokine production by peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC).

Thymulin, also known as Thymic Factor, is a nonapeptide produced by epithelial cell popuation in the thymus. This peptide is known for its immunomodulatory role and has neuroendocrine effects as well.
