General description

Cysteamin ist ein Aminothiol, das wichtige oxidierte Disulfidmoleküle wie Cystin reduziert, um Cystein zu erhalten.

Application

Cysteamin wird in zahlreichen Anwendungen wie z. B. der Regulierung der Genexpression, dem Abbau von Somatostatin und der Beschichtung von Nanopartikeln eingesetzt. Es kann zur Untersuchung des potenziellen Werts von Cystin in Stoffwechselerkrankungen wie der Cystinose verwendet werden. Cysteamin kann als redoxsensibler Bestandteil im Rahmen der Biosensorentwicklung eingesetzt werden.
